Swindon Town Football Club has partnered with NHS Swindon Talking Therapies to raise awareness of mental health support available to the local community. This initiative coincides with Suicide Awareness Month in September 2026 and aims to encourage more open conversations about mental wellbeing.
Recognising that around one in four people experience common mental health issues such as anxiety and low mood, the campaign uses a visual statement at the Nigel Eady County Ground. One in every four seats in the Arkellβs and Don Rogers stands will feature stickers promoting the NHS Talking Therapies service, reflecting the proportion of people who may benefit from support.
The partnership seeks to bring mental health resources closer to local people by integrating NHS Swindon Talking Therapies into matchday activities and messaging. The campaignβs message emphasises that tackling mental health is a collective effort and that no one has to face their struggles alone.
Swindon Town FCβs CEO, Anthony Hall, commented:
Supporting mental health is a fight we must all face together, and it is incredibly important that, as communities, we continue to come together to raise awareness and make sure people know that support is available. It is fantastic to see local people and businesses coming together here at Nigel Eady County to help shine a light on mental health and encourage those who may be struggling to seek support.
Local businesses are invited to support the campaign by donating to have their contribution recognised with a Taking Therapies sticker displayed on stadium seats. Those interested can contact the organisers via email.
NHS Swindon Talking Therapies is a free, confidential service provided by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. It supports people aged 16 and over who are registered with a GP in Swindon and experiencing common mental health difficulties. Individuals can refer themselves directly online or by calling 01793 836836.
